Summary

A COMPUTER PROGRAM HAS BEEN WRITTEN TO FOLLOW THE USUAL APPROXIMATE COOLING COIL ANALYSIS IN WHICH A STRAIGHT LINE ON A PSYCHROMETRIC CHART FROM ENTERING AIR CONDITION TO THE EFFECTIVE UNIFORM COIL SURFACE TEMPERATURE, OR APPARATUS DEW POINT, REPRESENTS THE COOLING CHARACTERISTIC. THE LEAVING AIR CONDITION LIES ON THAT LINE AT A POINT AWAY FROMTHE SATURATION CURVE DENOTED BY THE COIL < BYPASS FACTOR >. THE PROGRAM IS AN ITERATIVE LOOP DESIGNED TO BALANCE ROOM AND COIL SENSIBLE AND LATENT HEAT LOADS, AIR MASS FLOW RATE, AND FRESH AIR REQUIREMENT. ITS USE SHOULD ENABLE SELECTIONS OF AIR FLOW RATE AND COIL ADP TO BE MADE WITHOUT TEDIOUS REPETITIVE CALCULATIONS. D.W.H.
