PROMISING FUTURE OF THALLIUM SUPERCONDUCTORS.

LES SUPRA A BASE DE THALLIUM N'ONT PAS DIT LEUR DERNIER MOT.

Type of article: Article

Summary

RECENT WORK CARRIED OUT AT CRISMAT IN CAEN (FRANCE), IDENTIFIED THE POSSIBILITY OF PRODUCING THALLIUM SUPERCONDUCTORS, WHOSE CRITICAL TEMPERATURE IS GREATER THAN 90 K. THIS TEMPERATURE OF THE 2212 PHASE OF THE THALLIUM AND BARIUM CUPRATE CAN INCREASE TO 118 K. THE ADVANTAGE OF THE PROCESS IS THAT THE MATERIAL, MANUFACTURED IN SUCH A WAY, IS ABSOLUTELY REPRODUCIBLE ; FURTHERMORE IT CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIN LAYERS WITHOUT THALLIUM VOLATILIZATION, WHICH REDUCES THE EFFECTS OF POLLUTION.
