Type of article: Article
Summary
PROBLEMS IN USING PROPANE ARE NOT INSURMOUNTABLE, AND ONE OF THEM, THE FLAMMABILITY, CAN EVEN BE USED TO GOOD ADVANTAGE. THE AUTHOR LISTS PROPANE'S MANY ECONOMIC, TECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ADVANTAGES. HE DISCUSSES HOW GAS MOTORS AND COMPRESSOR-CONDENSER UNITS CAN BE COMBINED, AS WELL AS THE USE OF PROPANE IN MOBILE REFRIGERATING INSTALLATIONS, AND COOLING WITH PROPANEEVAPORATION WITHOUT CONDENSATION. HE STRESSES THE NEED FOR STANDARDS TO KEEP UP WITH TECHNOLOGY, PARTICULARLY AS THEY RELATE TO TECHNICAL AND SAFETY FACTORS IN THE USE OF PROPANE AS A REFRIGERANT. M. C.
