Summary

Recently, 1,1-difluoroethene (R1132a) has been identified as a promising low global warming potential (GWP) component for mixtures suitable for ultra-low temperature (ULT) refrigeration systems. In this respect, the mixture containing R1132a and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (R1234yf) can be considered a potential working fluid for ULT applications.
This work presents pvTz properties for R1132a + R1234yf binary system measured in the two-phase and superheated vapor regions. The measurements of this binary system were carried out along various isochores for temperatures from 233 K to 303 K for different R1132a mole fractions using an isochoric apparatus. The experimental two-phase pvTz data were used to assess the vapor-liquid equilibrium properties of R1132a + R1234yf binary system through the flash method with different equations of state. The vapor-phase measurements were correlated with various models. A good agreement between the experimental and calculated properties was found.
