Summary
QatarEnergy LNG has transformed its Acid Gas Injection facility into a flexible CO₂ sequestration unit, capable of both Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and acting as an intermediary unit for exporting dense phase CO₂ to support Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects.
This comprehensive transformation involved several key projects:
• Enhancing the capacity of existing Sulfur Recovery Units.
• Modifying existing Acid Gas Compression Units.
• Integrating multiple brownfield trains.
• Developing new CO₂ dense phase export facilities.
These efforts represent a significant undertaking to integrate advanced carbon management strategies within existing operations.
