Summary
This article presents the procedures used to estimate measurement uncertainties by statistical and experimental methods, applied to laboratory performance tests on refrigeration systems. Comparative analyses of both methods used for uncertainty estimation has been performed. The calculations and analyses are based on performance tests performed on three-stage cascade refrigerating systems, by COCH (Refrigeration Research and Development Centre). The results of uncertainties estimated for separate stages were applied in order to determine the overall uncertainty of cascade system and to assess the quality of the test method, which was prepared for the purpose of the investigations. The high and good quality of the test methods and measurement procedures used has been confirmed.
