Summary

To prolong the post-hravest life of mandarins, the modified atmosphere storage at four CO2 levels (2, 3, 4 and 5%) was tried in 41 transparent plastic jars both at room temperature and 5 more or less 1 deg C. The mandarins wrapped in 100 gauge perforated polyethylene bags were also stored in cooling chamber maintained at 5 more or less 1 deg C and under ambient conditions, where temperature ranged from 8 to 30 deg C and relative humidity varied from 50 to 70%. Biochemical quality parameters were checked periodically. Results are given and discussed.
