Summary

SMALL NORMAL TUNNEL JUNCTIONS ARE CONSIDERED, IN WHICH QUANTUM EFFECTS ARE ESSENTIAL. THE MEAN SQUARE VALUE OF THE CHARGE IS CALCULATED BY THE MONTE-CARLO METHOD FOR THE REGION OF INTERMEDIATE VISCOSITY PARAMETERS. IT IS SHOWN THAT AT INCREASING VISCOSITY THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE APPROXIMATIONS OF DISCRETE AND CONTINUOUS CHARGE STATES OF THE SYSTEM SHIFTS TO THE LOWER TEMPERATURE REGION.
