Summary

These proceedings contain 68 papers of the 8th conference, co-sponsored by the IIR and the US National Committee for the IIR (held concurrently with the International Compressor Engineering Conference and the 4th IIR-Gustav Lorentzen Conference), at Purdue University, USA, July 25-28, 2000. An additional paper from the 1998 conference has also been included.
