Summary

This European standard applies to mainline passenger railway vehicles, excluding vehicles on regional lines, subways, tramways and drivers' cabs. It presents comfort factors both for compartments and open-plan carriages (whether double-decker or not). Comfort parameters apply in a similar way to areas restricted to train crew, with the exception of kitchen areas in buffet carriages. The procedures to be applied to measure the physical parameters mentioned in this standard are defined in standard prEN 13129-2.
