Summary

A code regulating the manufacture, installation and operation of refrigerating equipment installed on motor and working vehicles (cars, refrigerated trucks, railway, ships). The concerns on environment and CFCs, are given together with the drawbacks of CFCs, the Montreal Protocol elements, and the Swedish plan for CFC phase-out. The study deals with refrigerating plants and cycles, with a review of definitions and units. All the components are presented, along with rules for leak-testing, operation, maintenance and safety. Training of personnel is described and the raw materials are listed. The document is supplemented with appendices, in particular tables giving the physical properties of the main refrigerants and their chemical formula.
