MILK SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED FROM MOTHERS AND FROM WOMEN WHO DONATED MILK TO THE MILK BANK. VIRUS WAS ISOLATED FROM MILK OF 1/3 OF THE DONORS ONLY. STORAGE OF MILK AT 253 K (-20 DEG C) FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS REDUCED CYTOMEGALOVIRUS TITRE BY 99% AND AFTER PASTEURIZATION AT 336 K (63 DEG C) FOR 8 MIN, MILK CONTAINED NO VIABLE VIRUS. (DAIRY SCI.
