Recent findings and research outlook for new refrigerants in absorption systems.

Summary

The article indicates the main research trends in the area of new refrigerants for absorption machines. Five groups of refrigerants are considered: water and salt; water, organic refrigerant and salts; alcohol and salts; halogenated refrigerant and organic absorbent; ammonia-based mixtures. For each of these groups the more recent mixtures are listed, together with the most promising results. The article is supplemented with bibliographical references.
