Summary

The paper gives an update on thermodynamic property measurement and research undertaken at Keio University, Japan. The fluids studied include R134a, R32, R125 and R152a, also the binary mixtures R152a-R134a, R32-R134a and R32-R125 which are being considered as substitutes for R22. The work includes experimental measurements and analytical studies including modelling, and covers the full range of properties required for use in the refrigeration industry. Molecular structure, boiling point, vapour pressure, critical parameters, PVT properties, viscosity, conductivity and other transport and thermal properties are researched. Descriptions are given of the apparatus involved and the methods used. Further environmentally acceptable refrigerants will be studied in an on-going program. D.W.H.
