Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
Notes the importance of thermal comfort for the creation of overall comfort. The thermal regime is influenced by factors relating to the person and the environment. Factors related to the person are: the thermal clothing (clo value) and the metabolism. Factors related to surroundings are: air temperature, average radiation temperature, air humidity and average air speed. Discusses briefly the determination and measurement of these parameters. Uses the steady state theory and calculation models of Fanger. Provides tables of recommended indoor air temperatures. Pays attention to prevention of localised discomfort.
