Summary

DESIGN OF CRYOGENIC PLANT FOR GAS PROCESSING HAS TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT A NUMBER OF CRITICAL PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT DESIGN FACTORS. WORKING IN TEMPERATURE-PRESSURE ZONES CLOSE TO CRITICAL, SUITABLE METHODOLOGY FOR VAPOUR LIQUID EQUILIBRIA PREDICTION IS NEEDED FOR HEAT AND MATERIAL BALANCE. OPTIMISATION TECHNIQUE BASICALLY INVOLVES MINIMIZING REFRIGERATION REQUIREMENT ON ONE HAND AND MAXIMIZING HYDROCARBON RECOVERY ON THE OTHER. SELECTION OF SUITABLE HARDWARE SUCH AS PLATE-FIN EXCHANGERS, COMPRESSORS ETC, ARE IMPORTANT IN THE DESIGNING OF GAS PROCESSING PLANT.
