REDUCED HEAD PRESSURE OPERATION OF INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS.

Author(s) : COLE R. A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE ARTICLE REVIEWS A NUMBER OF FACETS WHICH MAY PROHIBIT SYSTEMS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOW HEAD PRESSURE OPERATION WITH ITS ACCOMPANYING REDUCTION IN COMPRESSOR POWER. THESE INCLUDE FIXED VOLUME RATIO SCREW COMPRESSORS, SOME TYPES OF LIQUID RECIRCULATION SYSTEMS AND HOT GAS DEFROST SYSTEMS. THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS HOWEVER THAT MANY OBJECTIONS ARE NOT VALID AND REDUCED ENERGY USAGE CAN USUALLY BE OBTAINED. D.W.H.
