Reducing energy use of domestic refrigerators.

Author(s) : SLUIS S. M. van der

Summary

In the work carried out for the European Community, attention was given to the technical (and economical) possibilities for energy saving. In an engineering analysis, a dynamic simulation model was used to study the savings reached by conventional improvements like thickening insulation and increasing evaporator/condenser sizes. It was shown that 40-50% could be saved, at minimum life cycle costs to the user.
