Summary
The rules governing the limits for the emission of volatile organic compounds are currently very strict. A typical installation, using liquid nitrogen, is illustrated. The addition of an adsorption bed to the outlet will be decided from analysis of the composition of the gas stream, for any particular system. A comprehensive analysis of two typical installations, is presented. To achieve the required performance, a temperature of about -89 deg C is needed at which condition, about 10 kg/kWh of liquid nitrogen is consumed.
