Summary
Because of the increasing comfort requirements of automobiles, hygiene requirements during refrigerated transport and the conditions required when operating vehicles, the number of refrigerated trucks has increased a lot during the last few years. One of the most important components of the refrigerating and air conditioning plants which must meet stringent requirements relating to efficiency, reliability and ageing, is the refrigerant compressor. The article describes those requirements as well as the consequent conditions.
