THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES NEW REFRIGERANT FLOW CONTROLS, WHICH REPLACE CONVENTIONAL EXPANSION DEVICES AND ACCUMULATORS IN REGULATING LIQUID AND VAPOUR REFRIGERANT FLOW, STORAGE AND CHARGE CONTROL IN HEAT PUMP AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS. SUPERHEATING OF VAPOUR AND SUBCOOLING OF LIQUID ARE ELIMINATED, AS ARE THE BLOW-THROUGH OF VAPOUR FROM THE CONDENSER AND THE FLOW OFUNEVAPORATED REFRIGERANT VAPOUR FROM THE EVAPORATOR.
