REFRIGERANT RECOVERY LIES IN DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN ON-SITE RECOVERY/RE-USE AND RECLAIM.

Author(s) : KAMM J.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR STRESSES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RECLAIMING A REFRIGERANT FOR RE-USE AS A NEW REFRIGERANT ENTERING A SYSTEM OTHER THAN THE ONE FROM WHICH IT ORIGINATED, AND RECOVERING REFRIGERANT FOR TEMPORARY STORAGE DURING MAINTENANCE OR ALTERATIONS TO A SYSTEM TO WHICH IT WILL BE RETURNED. THE FORMER REQUIRES A SPECIALLY DESIGNED RECYCLING PLANT CAPABLE OF RECLAIMING REFRIGERANT TO MEET ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS. THE LATTER REQUIRES MERELY A GOOD QUALITY FILTER-DRIER OFREASONABLE CAPACITY. D.W.H.
