Summary
The issue of alternative refrigerants from the point of view of danger to ozone layer and the effect on global warming is discussed. An increase in emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, particularly CO2, during electrical energy production, is of growing concern. A list of alternative refrigerants (individual substances and mixtures) is presented, together with the use of natural refrigerants in refrigerating equipment.
