Summary

The paper gives a comparison of isentropic and volumetric performances of the most commonly used refrigerating compressors in the Netherlands. The data are presented by volume displacement range of the compressors and gives a state-of-the-art comparison of the average performance of the different compressor types. The performance applies for the average of different compressor manufacturers. Reciprocating compressors still appear to present the highest efficiency. Surprisingly, the smaller open reciprocating compressors perform better than the larger ones.
