THE INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURE OF A REFRIGERATION SHELL AND TUBE EVAPORATOR IS THE OUTCOME OF TEST STUDIES: DIFFERENT FLOW PATTERNS AND THE COMPARISON OF THE PERFORMANCE OF DIFFERENT GRADES OF TUBES USED. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS FACTORS: TYPE OF REFRIGERANT, TYPE OF FLUID TO BE COOLED, MASS TITRE OF THE FLUID, SUPERHEATING OF GASES, PRESSURE DROPS IN TUBES, LUBRICANT, GEOMETRY OF THE APPARATUS AND ITS COMPONENTS. RELIABILITY MUST BE PROVEN: HYDRAULIC TESTING, MECHANICAL TESTING AND CHECKS ON GAS-AND WATER-TIGHTNESS. J.L.
