Summary

Proceedings of a workshop, attended by delegates from 10 countries, held in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, November 29-30, 1994. The purpose of the workshop was to: provide an international forum for the review of current and potential laboratory and analytical practices; identify and categorize laboratory and analytical uses and related national and international regulatory standards reliant on ODS; identify progress, challenges and barriers to eliminating laboratory and analytical uses of ODS; consider how controls on essential uses under the Montreal Protocol and national legislation are being applied; elaborate means of communicating information on the issues, essential use exemptions and alternatives.
