Research on consolidated active carbon and its application in adsorption refrigeration.

Author(s) : WU J., LI X., WANG S., et al.

Summary

This paper presents the typical curves of adsorption rates for many ratios of the active carbon-methanol mixture. The effect of the mixture ratio and of the adsorbent's density on adsorption performance is analysed. The reasonable mixture ratio and adsorbent density of consolidated blocks are given. Furthermore, an adsorption refrigerator using the consolidated activated carbon-methanol pair has been developed, which can produce18 kg of ice per hour. The operating parameters of two systems using the consolidated active carbon and granular active carbon have been compared.
