RESEARCH ON THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF ABSORPTION WORKING FLUIDS AT THE ENERGY LABORATORY OF BEN-GURION UNIVERSITY.

Summary

THE OPTIMAL COMPOSITION OF THE WORKING FLUID GENERALLY DEPENDS AS MUCH ON THE HEAT SOURCE AND HEAT SINK TEMPERATURES AS ON PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS. THE EFFORTS UNDERTAKEN AT THE BEN-GURION UNIVERSITY WERE CONCERNING THE USE OF LOW-POTENTIAL SOURCES IN THE FOLLOWING FIELDS: 363-393 AND 363-453 K (90-120 AND 90-180 DEG C), THE EVAPORATOR BEING BELOW 273 K (0 DEG C). THESE RESEARCH STEPS ARE THE FOLLOWING: SEARCH FOR NEW ABSORBENTS ; EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS AND ASSESSMENT PROCESSES OF THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES ; AND CYCLE ANALYSIS AND COMPARISON OF THE PERFORMANCES OF VARIOUS PAIRS. THE METHOD IS ILLUSTRATED BY THE EVALUATION OF THE MIXTURE OF MONOMETHYLAMINE OR DIMETHYLAMINE MIXTURES WITH ETHYLENE GLYCOL.
