Summary

THE MANIFESTATION OF SCALD INCREASED WHEN THE FRUITS WERE HARVESTED A WEEK EARLIER THAN THEIR NORMAL MATURITY. < STOP SCALD > GAVE GOOD RESULTS, ESPECIALLY ON < WINESAP > EITHER BY SPRAYING OR DIPPING THE FRUITS IN A CONCENTRATION OF 1,750 OR 2,600 PPM. IT WAS LESS EFFECTIVE WHEN THE FRUITS WERE NOT IN THE STAGE OF NORMAL MATURITY. MIXTURE OF DIPHENYLAMINE AND OLEOZAN IN CONCENTRATION OF 2,000 PPM OF ACTIVE MATERIAL, GAVE SATISFACTORY RESULTS. < DELVO COAT > < OLEOZAN > AND THE COMPOUNDS OF CALCIUM NITRATE AND CALCIUM CHLORIDE GENERALLY GAVE NO SATISFACTORY RESULTS.
