Summary

YTTRIUM-BARIUM-COPPER-OXIDE AND IRON (FOR COPPER) SUBSTITUTED BULK SAMPLES WERE PREPARED BY DIFFERENT METHODS. THE SAMPLES WERE CHARACTERIZED BY MAGNETIZATION MEASUREMENTS, X-RAY DIFFRACTION, TRANSMISSION ELECTRON MICROSCOPE, SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY AND EDX. THE DATA SHOW THE PRESENCE OF 2 < SUPERCONDUCTING > PHASES, WHICH CAN BE SHOWN TO CORRESPOND TO THE INTER-AND INTRAGRANULAR PROPERTIES OF THE SAMPLES. THE CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITY IS RELATED TO THE UNDERLYING MICROSTRUCTURE AND THE CHEMICAL HOMOGENEITY OF THE SAMPLE.
