Summary

Large mechanical renovations are always a challenge, especially when a building transitions into a new use. Because ductwork is the single most expensive element in most commercial HVAC systems, one way to save installed cost was to limit the amount of sheet metal in the design. Since it typically takes about twice the airflow to distribute cooling as it does heating, a central air-distribution system sized for heating rather than cooling is smaller and less expensive to install.
