Summary

The paper summarizes the results of a round table between 30 march and 2 april 1992 in Marly-le-Roi near Paris which included research workers from different countries: China, India, Russia, Taiwan, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine, in conjunction with the EEC and with the help of IFREMER and private companies (Air Liquide, IMV, Sépia International). The main subject under discussion was fish sperm: fertilization quality, dilution and cold preservation possibilites, freezing possibilities. The preservation of ova and embryos has also been dealt with, together with the possibility of setting up "gamete banks" to preserve endangered species. The present trend is towards better international cooperation in this field. Y.G.
