Risk-evaluation of ammonia when used as a refrigerant.
Author(s) : LINDBORG A.
Summary
The article gives a comprehensive picture of ammonia, and its physical, chemical and thermodynamic properties. It places ammonia in a more general context, including, among others, the industry for nitrogen-based fertilizer, in which there are risks, as well. Some guidelines are given for providing sufficient safety in installations and for reacting in the event of accident. And, finally, toxicity is given a thorough analysis.
