SCIENCE OF THE OZONE DEPLETION THEORY: CURRENT STATUS.

Author(s) : WATSON R. T.

Summary

IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT THE AMOUNT OF STRATOSPHERIC OZONE DEPENDS ON NUMEROUS POLLUTANTS, DUE TO MAN ACTIVITIES. THE OZONE LEVEL INCREASES WITH CO2 AND CH4 AND DECREASES WITH CFC AND N2 O. LITTLE CHANGE IN THE OZONE LEVEL IS PREDICTED FOR THE NEXT DECADE, BUT IT IS PROBABLE THAT ITS COLUMN WILL BE CHANGED. THIS MAY RESULT IN ADVERSE CLIMATIC, BUT NO BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS. THE FURTHER RESEARCH WILL INCREASE UNDERSTANDING AND THE RELIABILITY OF PREDICTIONS.
