SECOND LAW ANALYSIS OF A HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATOR WITH CFC SUBSTITUTES.

Author(s) : VODIANITSKAIA P.

Summary

THE THERMODYNAMIC INFLUENCES OF NEW REFRIGERANTS ON EACH COMPONENT OF A REFRIGERATOR WERE DETERMINED BY A SECOND LAW ANALYSIS. EXPERIMENTAL TEMPERATURES WERE USED, AS WELL AS OTHER DATA GENERATED BY THE CYCLE-11 SIMULATION PROGRAM. THE WORKING FLUIDS CONSIDERED WERE THE HFC134A AND 152A, SOME OF THE LEADING ALTERNATIVES FOR CFC SUBSTITUTION IN HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES. ON THE BASIS OF A COMPLETE SET OF ENTROPY AND COP VALUES, SOME OPTIMIZING PATHS WERE SUGGESTED FOR REFRIGERATOR OPERATION WITH THESE CFC SUBSTITUTES.
