INVESTIGATION OF R22/R142B MIXTURE AND R152A AS SUBSTITUTES FOR R12 IN DOMESTIC REFRIGERATORS.

Author(s) : SPINDLER U., et al.

Summary

A MIXTURE OF R22/R142B AND R152A AS POSSIBLE SUBSTITUTES FOR R12 WERE EXAMINED IN DOMESTIC REFRIGERATORS. A STEADY-STATE THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE ANALYSIS WITH R22/R142B AND R152A INDICATED AN INCREASE IN COP OF 2-5% COMPARED TO R12. THE R22/R142B MIXTURE AT 0.52 MASS FRACTION OF R22 PERFORMED UP TO 3% BETTER THAN R12 WITH COUNTER-CURRENT HEAT EXCHANGERS AND SYNTHETIC OIL (ALKYLBENZENE). THUS, R22/R142B AND R152A MAY BE USED IN DOMESTIC REFRIGERATORS WITHOUT LOSING EFFICIENCY OR POSING AN ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM.
