Summary

This file comprises: binary ice and the main processes used at present; selection of a secondary refrigerant and the Tengelmann experiment involving 7 German supermarket plants using alternative refrigerants such as propane and ammonia. This option obliged the group to use indirect cooling which in turn improved the regulation of the operating of the plant but gave rise to a 30% increase in energy consumption.
