Summary

ln order to ensure a suitable temperature range during transport, eutectic plates are usually placed in containers of health products. A common observation is that the eutectic plates are very often selected either with a rather Low eutectic point, e.g. -18°C, and when eutectic plates with a higher eutectic point are selected, they are nevertheless frozen and stored under much Lower temperature conditions. In this article, and based on an example, it is shown that there is little to gain by empLoying such practices, whereas the impacts on energy consumption and the environment are far greater.
