Should factories be air-conditioned?
Type of article: Article
Summary
HPAC Engineering has selected a number of articles from its archives to be republished in 2003. This month's selection is an early study of the impact that air conditioning can have on factory-worker productivity. The wartime setting, economic data, and the research methods used make for a compelling article, especially today when productivity studies on new buildings are being undertaken and the cost effectiveness of providing air conditioning to factory workers is still being debated. This article was first published in January 1945.
