Summary

THIS PAPER PRESENTS A SIMPLIFIED MATHEMATICAL MODEL WHICH DESCRIBES THE TRANSIENT BEHAVIOUR OF A REFRIGERATING-HEAT PUMPING UNIT WITH A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR, WORKING AS A COOLER-DEHUMIDIFIER IN A HVAC SYSTEM. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM MODEL WAS SPLIT INTO MANY COMPONENT BLOCKS. EACH OF THEM WAS SEPARATELY MODELLED IN ORDER TO DETERMINE ITS TRANSFER FUNCTION. THE SPLIT MODELS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY COMBINED AND ANALYSED WITH THE AID OF ONE OF THE ADVANCED CONTROL SYSTEM SIMULATION PACKAGES.
