Summary

IN LARGE BUILDINGS, EVEN IN WINTER, LIGHTING AND OCCUPANT HEAT HAS TO BE REMOVED. IN THIS CASE, A FOUR-PIPE COOLER-BOILER CAN PROVIDE REFRIGERATION FOR THE CENTRAL ZONE WITH THE COOLING UNIT AND HEATING FOR THE PERIPHERAL ZONE WITH THE BOILER. IN ADDITION, HEAT PUMPS CAN TRANSFER HEAT FROM THE CENTRAL TO THE PERIPHERAL ZONE. A SIMULATION OF BOTH SYSTEMS WAS MADE OVER ONE YEAR AND THE ENERGY SAVINGS OF THE HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM WITH WATER-AIR HEAT PUMPS WERE EVALUATED.
