SIMULATION OF A NEW ABSORPTION TEMPERATURE AMPLIFIER USING A TFE-E181 PAIR FOR LOW-LEVEL TEMPERATURE UPGRADING.

Summary

A TEMPERATURE-BOOSTING-TYPE ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP IS PROPOSED IN ORDER TO UPGRADE LOW-TEMPERATURE-LEVEL ENERGY TO A HIGHER LEVEL. THE APPLICATIONS ARE FOCUSED ON INDUSTRIAL TEMPERATURE LEVELS, MORE THAN 140 DEG C IN MOST CASES. THE WORKING FLUIDS COUPLE INVESTIGATED HERE IS TFE (TRIFLUOROETHANOL) AND E181 (DIMETHYLETHER TETRAETHYLENE GLYCOL), WHICH IS VERY ATTRACTIVE FOR ITS THERMAL STABILITY AND NONCORROSIVITY. THE PAPER IS BASED ON A SIMULATION MODEL OF THE ABSORPTION HEAT TRANSFORMER. RESULTS ARE VERY INTERESTING COMPARED WITH CONVENTIONAL HEAT PUMPS. A NEW TYPE OF CYCLE IS PRESENTED, ONE THAT IS VERY EFFICIENT FOR TEMPERATURE BOOSTING IN THE CASE OF LOW WASTE HEAT TEMPERATURES.
