SMALL SUPERCONDUCTING SOLENOID WOUND FROM NON-INSULATED UNSTABILIZED MULTIFILAMENTARY NIOBIUM-TIN CONDUCTOR.

Author(s) : GOMORY F.

Summary

THE RESULTS REVEAL THAT A NON-INSULATED SOLENOID SUPERCONDUCTOR IS CAPABLE OF FUNCTIONING WITH A MODERATED TIME DELAY OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD. MOREOVER, IT IS SHOWN THAT THE RESISTANCE FORMED BETWEEN SPIRALS DURING COIL ANNEALING CAN SERVE AS PROTECTIVE RESISTANCE DURING TRANSITION TO THE NORMAL STATE. THE ADVANTAGE OF THE PROCESS IS THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO INCREASE THE CURRENT DENSITY.
