Summary

THE PAPER PRESENTS A NEW CONTINUOUS OPERATING SOLAR DESICCANT ABSORPTION SYSTEM IN WHICH WATER-CALCIUM CHLORIDE IS USED AS THE ABSORBENT. THE FLAT-PLATE SOLAR COLLECTOR IS UTILIZED AS THE DESORBER WHERE WATER FROM THE SOLUTION IS EVAPORATED TO AMBIENT AIR IN PASSING OVER THE COLLECTOR ABOVE THE SOLUTION FILM. THE PLANT IS EQUIPPED WITH A LATENT HEAT ACCUMULATION SYSTEM WHICH IS EXTREMELY COMPACT IN SIZE AND VERYEFFICIENT. THE COP-SOLAR COLLECTOR EFFICIENCY PRODUCT IS ESTIMATED AS BEING THE HIGHEST OF ALL PRESENTLY KNOWN SYSTEMS.
