Solar energy assisted water compression heat pump system for the heating of single-family houses.

Author(s) : PEDERSEN S., RASMUSSEN L.

Summary

In order to prevent continuous future refrigerant conversions within the heat pump industry alternative thinking is now required and it is necessary to choose between natural refrigerants such as water, hydrocarbons, ammonia, carbon dioxide or air. A heat pump cycle with water used in a direct heat exchange paves the way for several combination possibilities with either solar collectors, ground coupled collectors or storage as energy source for the heat pump.
