Solar energy use for compression heat pump operation.

Upotreba solarne energije za rad kompresorskih toplotnih pumpi.

Author(s) : BOJIC M., NIKOLIC N.

Summary

Approximately 50% of energy in Serbia is consumed in the building sector, whereof the major part accounts for heating residential and non-residential buildings. Restrictions regarding the greenhouse gas emissions defined by the Kyoto Protocol obligate the country to reduce the emission of these gases, and one of the solutions lies in the increasing use of renewable energy sources. This paper deals with a simulation of the heating system by using EnergyPlus software, including a water-water heat pump, underground heat exchanger, floor heating system and solar photovoltaic cells which use solar energy for the generation of electricity for driving the compression heat pump. The analysis has pointed out energy consumption and saving of this heating system as well as its effects on the environment.
