SOLID-LIQUID EQUILIBRIA AT LOW TEMPERATURES.

Author(s) : TELLER M., KNAPP H.

Summary

THE VARIATION IN THE SOLUBILITY OF PURE SOLIDS IN TERMS OF TEMPERATURE CAN BE DETERMINED BY TAKING SAMPLES OF SATURATED LIQUID IN A CRYOSTAT. LIQUID-SOLID EQUILIBRIUM DATA STORED IN A DATA BANK CAN BE COMPARED TO THE VALUES OBTAINED BY MEANS OF THERMODYNAMIC EQUILIBRIUM CONDITIONS, THERMODYNAMIC FUNCTIONS, EQUATIONS DESCRIBING THE PROPERTIES OF PURE SUBSTANCES OR MIXTURES AND OF THEIR CHARACTERISTIC PARAMETERS.
