Solubility and vapor pressure characteristics of water (lithium bromide + lithium iodide + lithium nitrate + lithium chloride) system for air-cooled absorption chillers.

Summary

Based on experimental data of solubility and vapour pressure, water/lithium bromide + lithium iodide + lithium nitrate + lithium chloride system was proposed as a possible working fluid for small scale air-cooled absorption chillers. At optimum mole ratios in 3 or 4-component systems, crystallization temperature were found to be lower than with lithium bromide alone, for 20 or 35 deg K. Vapour pressure of the 4-component system, which observed to be much higher than that of water-lithium bromide system, was compensated by addition of lithium chloride without loss of solubility characteristics of the 4-components system.
