Summary

SOUND VELOCITY IN HELIUM-PARA-HYDROGEN MIXTURES IS MEASURED USING PULSE TECHNIQUE AT A FREQUENCY OF 5 MHERTZ BETWEEN 18 AND 30 K AT PRESSURES UP TO 11.15 MPASCAL. ADIABATIC COMPRESSIBILITY IS CALCULATED. THE RESULTS OBTAINED ARE DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF THE THERMODYNAMIC PERTURBATION THEORY WHICH TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE QUANTUM EFFECTS.
