Summary

Equilibrium and small oscillations in the system of a high-critical temperature superconductor and a permanent magnet are considered. A phenomenological theory based on the observed magnetization curves is given. The measured forces and oscillation frequencies in the system of YBCO superconductor and samarium-cobalt(5) permanent magnet are compared with the theoretical predictions. Conclusions are made as to the possible applications for studying the superconducting properties of materials.
